Thanks to the efforts of our staff, the SCCA is now expanding its workshops through the Fall and Spring seasons. A wide variety of art disciplines are available to suit the artist that rests in all of us. Visit with us throughout the year to see the workshop offerings available to you.

Workshop Offerings
 The Art Workshop Sessions:
  • Figure Drawing, Graphic Arts, or Design
  • Water Color or Oil Painting
  • Pottery, Fashion and Yoga Classes
to name just a few... Registrations are accepted.

February 4 - Alvernia music class at SCCA, Penn Pat Professional Artists, "Simple Gifts", and Sch. River Heritage Ethnic Display Board

March 7- Bicentennial celebration of Lincoln, "Murder at Ford's Theatre (Sovereign Majestic) with reception to follow at Tartavul Star Saloon (Schuylkill Historical Society)

April 4 - "The Dream Lives On"~ Celebration of Martin Luther King at SCCA, 7PM 

April 7 - Reflexions and Images of the Holocaust~Humanities

April 19 - County High School Gallery opening 2-4PM~live music and demo by artists.  Show continues thru May 15

April 26 - Youth Music Recital at SCCA 2PM

May 3 - Celebrate Schuylkill at the Fairlane Mall 1-5PM

June, July, & August Summer Art Camp for kids ages 4-14!    Also, High School and Adult Art classes 

June, July & August- Free music perfromances - open to the public

September - "Groovin in the Garden", Blues, Funk, Standards, Rock & Roll.

October 10 - Bus tours of coal mining site

October - Wine tasting, Poe reading and ghost stories

November 5, 6, & 7 - John O'Hara weekend-dinner theatre.

November Gallery Show - Frederic Toone Bacon, winner of Berks Lifetime Achievement in the Arts Award. Opening reception 2-4pm

December - Christmas Mixer

Throughout the year: Artists in the School programs, Seedlings Pre-K, Schuylkill County Re-Grant, County & Boro performances throughout Schuylkill County.

The SCCA is housed in the historic Yuengling Mansion and is on the National Registry of Historic Places. The building and grounds are available for rent by the public.  Tours are available for everyone!
